A SOLID FOUNDATION DURING THE TIME OF STORMS

Every builder knows this. That the integrity and stability of any structure depends upon the reliability and steadiness of the foundations. But the Lord is referring to the security and durability of our life. Disaster and calamity will inevitably come. But we will see two different outcomes. One is destruction (Matt. 7:27), the other, preservation. The house might be well built. It’s building materials, expensive, but if it stands on a shaky foundation, it is insecure. The massive and solid foundation of life are the faithful words and promises of the God who governs all things – even over the storm, the flood, the wind and even over pandemics. His words are trustworthy and His promises, sure and faithful, for those who embrace them. God will uphold them by the unwavering fulfillment of His vows. Believers will never be put to shame. Calamities and tragedies will come and go like storms. They will beat on our lives again and again. But His words will surely come to pass and fulfill their divine purposes for those who take refuge in it. No matter what.

The psalmist sings: “The LORD is my ROCK and my FORTRESS and my DELIVERER, my GOD, my ROCK, in whom I take refuge, my SHIELD , and the horn of my salvation, my STRONGHOLD.” (Psalm 18:2)
